From a young age, I have pondered about why poverty exists alongside the wealthy? What are its root causes?

As a religious and God-fearing man that knows there is a loving supreme being watching the human-race from a distance. People suffering in poverty deeply troubles me. I believe this is human-made, not caused by a loving God.

You can find people in every country that has compassion for the poor. While numerous governments, NGOs (non-government organizations) and nonprofits work tirelessly to alleviate those suffering in poverty, billions still suffer and wealth remains concentrated in the hands of a few. This disparity raises a fundamental question, why?

My visits to Uganda, Africa. My wife’s homeland, offer a firsthand look at the realities of poverty. I witnessed the dedication of local NGOs often hampered by limited resources and visibility.

In 2023, I created a Facebook group to form a line of communication between NGOs and people that care about the people living in poverty in the world. Through this group, I have made many close friends that are leaders serving the poor. Their unwavering compassion is evident, yet everyone is struggling financially to provide on projects they are working on.

Recognizing that the world is increasingly interconnected through social media, we, as a global community of eight billion, have unprecedented opportunities for communication. Technology empowers us to share ideas and work together on poverty issues like never before.

Rather than focusing on divisive world politics, many compete one with another for influence which sometimes causes conflicts and wars. I strongly believe that there are many people that are peacemakers, humble and full of compassion to counter division which does not solve problems but breeds more hate in the world.

I am seeking people worldwide who have compassion in their heart and a focus on those that are suffering in poverty. Global communication is essential to lessen poverty wherever it exists.
